Woolpack Fishery

Key Information
Woolpack Fishery
Established in the late 1970s, Woolpack Fishery emerged from the cessation of sand and gravel extraction near Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire. Over the years, the fishery has developed into a vibrant spot for anglers, surrounded by natural beauty that offers a tranquil escape.
The Lakes
The fishery comprises four distinct lakes, each with its own character. Lake 4, the original carp lake at 3½ acres, remains closed to anglers as it supports growing-on stock and quarantined originals, with plans to reopen in the coming years. Lakes 5 and 6, spanning just over 8 acres, feature islands and a variety of depths, making them a challenge for even the most experienced anglers. Lake 7, at over 9 acres, is known for its consistent natural food supply and subtle terrain variations, while Lake 8 offers around 8 acres of diverse features, including bars and gullies, providing ample opportunities for fishing enthusiasts.
Fish Highlights
Woolpack Fishery boasts impressive specimens, with carp reaching up to 51 lb 4 oz. Lake 5/6 is home to some stunning linears and fully scaled mirrors weighing up to 33 lbs, while Lake 7 has produced carp in the 30s and 40s. Tench and bream are also present, with bream weighing up to 15 lb 2 oz and tench reaching up to 11 lb 8 oz. The variety and size of the fish make Woolpack a noteworthy destination for those seeking quality catches.
