During this time, the fishing environment shifted as cormorants impacted smaller fish, leaving the lake home to larger carp. In 2012, the lake underwent a transformation, focusing on restocking with resilient carp that have flourished over the years.

Anglers at Walcot East Lake can pursue carp weighing up to 20 lb and tench reaching up to 10 lb. The lake's shallow and rich waters provide a challenging yet rewarding experience for members looking to catch sizeable specimens.
