Additionally, around 30 brown trout, each weighing between 3lb and 4lb, are available for sport fishing. Throughout the year, various fly hatches like buzzers, black gnats, and beetles keep the fishing action vibrant, ensuring plenty of opportunities to reel in a beautiful catch.

High Newton Reservoir is open all year, from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. For visitors requiring wheelchair access, arrangements can be made in advance by contacting the fishery. Day permits are priced at £18.00, allowing up to two fish per angler. The reservoir operates on a catch and release basis, with barbless or de-barbed hooks mandatory to ensure sustainable fishing practices.
