Lymm Dam
History
In 1824, Lymm Dam was created when a road was built across a sandstone valley. Over the years, it has become a cherished beauty spot in Cheshire. Since Bay Malton Angling Club took over the lease in 2007, they have developed stagings to enhance the fishing experience for members and visitors alike.
Fish Species
Anglers at Lymm Dam have the opportunity to catch carp up to 35lb and pike exceeding 25lb. The Dam Wall and church swims are popular spots for targeting these impressive pike, often supported by numerous jacks. To ensure quality fishing, the use of live and dead coarse fish as bait is banned, with anglers encouraged to use alternatives like herring, mackerel, or lamprey.
Facilities
The fishery offers essential amenities, including clean toilets for a comfortable visit. Additionally, club memberships are available, providing anglers with regular access and supporting the ongoing maintenance of Lymm Dam. These memberships help foster a welcoming community for fishing enthusiasts.
