River Servern

Location

The River Servern in Worcestershire offers anglers a serene fishing experience downstream of Worcester on the Lower Severn. Situated just 3 to 4 miles from Junction 7 of the M5, Kempsey is easily accessible yet remains delightfully quiet. On clear days, the Malvern Hills provide a picturesque backdrop, enhancing the calm atmosphere along this lovely stretch of the river.

Features

Parking is conveniently located about 150 yards from the river, though this may vary in wet weather. It's advisable to park near farm buildings and walk down the track if necessary. The River Servern also offers club memberships, giving anglers the opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts and gain access to exclusive fishing areas. Safety is paramount here, as the riverbanks are steep and high. Many anglers choose to bring a rope or wear an inflatable vest, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Fish Species

The River Servern is renowned for its diverse range of fish. Anglers have successfully caught double figure Barbel, Roach weighing over two pounds, Bream up to nine pounds, and Pike exceeding twenty pounds. Additionally, Carp and Zander present excellent catches, along with Perch, Eels, and Chub. Occasionally, flatfish from the sea make their way upstream, adding to the variety of this vibrant fishing spot.
