WAC - Kettlethorpe Hall Lake

Key Information
Location and Access
Kettlethorpe Hall Lake is situated in West Yorkshire, originally part of the Hall's ornamental gardens. Access to the water can be found off Barnsley Road, approximately 500 yards before Newmillerdam. A reasonably sized car park is available at the entrance, accommodating around 25 anglers.
Fish Species
The lake is home to Bream, Carp, Perch, Roach, and Tench. In June 2006, the lake experienced a significant loss in fish population due to de-oxygenation, resulting in the loss of nearly all Bream, Crucian Carp, and Tench. A subsequent survey by the Environment Agency in January 2007 confirmed the depletion of larger fish and identified the overstocking of small Roach and Perch as the main cause. Plans are underway to reduce the Roach and Perch population by half and reintroduce larger Tench, Crucian Carp, and Skimmer Bream.
Facilities
Parking is available at the entrance, providing convenient access for anglers visiting Kettlethorpe Hall Lake.
