Buckpool and Fens Pool Local Nature Reserve is situated in the West Midlands, near Dudley and Brierley Hill. Primarily a nature reserve, it also hosts informal angling activities that are highly valued by the community. The area features three large pools and an adjoining canal, offering a serene setting for both nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts.
The pools boast excellent stocks of carp and pike, providing ample opportunities for anglers seeking to engage in their favourite pastime. The presence of these species contributes to the biodiversity of the reserve, making it an attractive spot for wildlife observation as well.
Angling at the reserve requires the appropriate permits, available in two types: Standard (£16.50 annually) and Concessionary (£8.50 annually for those who are unwaged, such as students or pensioners). Persons under sixteen can fish without a permit. Permits are valid for one year from 31st March and can be obtained from Black Country Tackle, located at 51 High Street, Brierley Hill.
