Mark and Debbie Vickery established Paper Mill Fishery in Swansea back in 1994. Over the past 15 years, their dedication has transformed the lake into a well-managed and cherished spot for fishing enthusiasts, fostering a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

The fishery is equipped with disabled access and facilities, ensuring everyone can enjoy their time by the water. Visitors can also make use of clean toilets and convenient day ticket access. If you're new to fishing, you'll find support through assistance for beginners and free fly fishing lessons on weekends. Additionally, fishing for worms has come to an end, allowing anglers to focus more on trout fishing. The lake benefits from a foundation supply of rainbow trout in various sizes, with larger specimens introduced daily to maintain a healthy fish population.

Records

Anglers at Paper Mill Fishery have the chance to catch impressive trout, with the current rainbow trout record at 23 lb 11 oz and the brown trout reaching 17 lb 11 oz. It's worth noting that all brown trout have been released for the time being. The lake maintains a steady supply of rainbow trout in various sizes, continually enhancing the fishing experience.
