The Venue

Kings Pond in Surrey is a charming 16-peg fishery nestled within the Badshot Lea Complex. Established to cater to younger anglers, it has quickly become a favourite among members of varying experience levels. The pond is surrounded by lush green grass swims, adorned with lily pads and vibrant vegetation along the far bank, creating a pleasant setting for a day out on the water.

Fish Variety

The pond offers a diverse range of fish species, ensuring enjoyable fishing throughout the year. During the summer and autumn months, anglers can target beautiful green and golden Tench weighing up to 2 lb 8 oz. In colder seasons, hundreds of Roach, Chub, and Roach/Bream hybrids are available, each up to 1 lb 8 oz. Recently, stillwater Barbel have been introduced, providing a new challenge for those using light tackle. Additionally, carp and bream are present, adding to the variety of catches.

Support and Learning

Kings Pond is well-equipped to support both novice and seasoned anglers. Club memberships are available, offering access to fishing lessons and tuition. There is dedicated assistance for beginners, making it an ideal spot for those new to the sport. The pond is also used to train and coach juniors in float fishing, fostering a welcoming environment for the next generation of anglers. However, it's worth noting that securing a peg might require an early start due to the pond's popularity.
