Knypersley Reservoir

Key Information
Features
Knypersley Reservoir covers 35.4 acres and reaches depths of over 40ft in certain areas. The reservoir is fed by multiple inlets, including the River Trent from nearby Biddulph Moor. Surrounded by trees, an old castle, and a historic bridge, the venue offers a picturesque setting for anglers. Club memberships are available, providing access to this well-regarded fishing spot.
Fish
The reservoir is renowned for its bream, with many specimens exceeding 200lb when the water levels are high. In addition to bream, anglers can target sizeable roach, perch, and pike. While carp are present, they are few, making them a challenging catch. The deep waters near the Serpentine Lake and road dam provide excellent opportunities for catching large fish.
Rules
Fishing at Knypersley Reservoir is permitted from dawn to dusk and must be approached via recognised paths only. All gates should remain closed, and activities such as bringing dogs, lighting fires, using guns, or littering are strictly prohibited. Carp and pike caught should not be kept in keepnets, and any unused bait must be taken home. Additionally, priority is given to matches listed on the site’s notice boards.
