Meanwhile, the Model Canal, also with 60 pegs, is named in honour of the farm donated by the Duke of Sutherland, the former owner of Trentham Gardens. This canal regularly hosts competitions, with carp weighing between 50 to 80lb commonly caught and a record match weight of 102lb 5oz.
