Carney Pools

Carney Pools offers a tranquil fishing experience spread across 12 acres on the edge of Cannock Chase. Situated between Rugeley and Stafford, this picturesque site features two distinct pools tailored to different angling preferences.

Fishing Pools

Damsel Pool covers about 1.4 acres and provides 23 pegs, including several designed for disabled anglers. Dragon Pool, the larger of the two, hosts a variety of species such as carp up to 2 lb, tench, roach, and bream. This pool includes an island and has varying depths from three feet to approximately seven feet near the island, offering diverse environments for fishing.

Fish Species

At Dragon Pool, anglers can target bream, roach, tench, and carp, with the largest carp reaching up to 2 lb. The presence of both shallow and deeper areas near the island supports a healthy population of these species, ensuring an engaging fishing experience.
