Pike Fishing

Underbank Reservoir offers excellent pike fishing from October to February. Anglers can expect to catch pike up to 20 lb, especially when using dead baits during the colder months. Fishing for pike here is managed through syndication, so there might be a waiting list due to the reservoir’s popularity. To participate, ensure you have at least a 15 lb line, 20 lb traces, unhooking mats, forceps, and suitable landing nets.

Bream and Silver Fishing

For those targeting bream, using a big ground bait feeder fished into the wind early in the day yields the best results. Worms and corn on the hook attract bream typically between 3 and 4 lb, with some up to 5½ lb regularly appearing. If silver fish are more your style, a Waggler or Pole approach works well. Perch up to 1 lb and roach slightly over half a pound can be caught throughout the day. A successful day at Underbank can result in catching between 30 to 50 lb of fish.
