During the day, members of the Chard and District Angling Club (C&DAC) are on hand to collect payments and issue permits, making the angling experience straightforward. The presence of bailiffs and staff throughout the reservoir helps maintain order and assist anglers as needed.

The reservoir spans 48 acres of open water, making it a favourite spot for various angling enthusiasts, including match and carp anglers. Night fishing is especially popular among carp anglers, who take advantage of the large, accessible swims ideal for bivies. Additionally, bird watchers and walkers enjoy the diverse wildlife and scenic trails surrounding the water.
