Getting There

From Bath, take the A4 heading towards Box. To access the Shockerwick beat, continue along the A4 after passing the Bradford-on-Avon roundabout at Bathford. If you're aiming for Middlehill, proceed beyond the Shockerwick turn for Beat 1 and take the next left; the park is situated on the opposite side of the creek to the right. Be sure to follow the ground signs that indicate designated fishing areas. It's important not to park too close to the creek to avoid blocking road access.

Fishing the Brook

Box Brook is a distinguished spring-fed limestone river in Somerset, home to a plentiful population of wild Brown Trout and Grayling. Anglers looking to fish here will need to employ traditional fly fishing techniques, as these methods are required to catch the resident species. The river is teeming with insect life, particularly during the mayfly hatch, providing excellent conditions for fishing. The natural environment supports vibrant aquatic life, making it a favoured spot for those keen on fly fishing.

Parking

Visitors to Box Brook will find parking available near the fishing areas. To ensure smooth access to the roadway, please avoid parking too near to the creek. Look for the signs on the ground that mark permitted parking zones.
