Fishing Experience

The Barrow Lodge, affectionately known as 'the Tanks', consists of three concrete bowl-type reservoirs. These offer a balanced challenge for anglers looking to hone their skills without feeling overwhelmed. The clear waters are home to rising trout, providing a rewarding experience whether you’re using deep fished lure or dry fly techniques.

Access and Permits

Parking is available in the main car park, conveniently located on the same side of the A38 as Barrow No 3. Permits for day and afternoon fishing can be obtained from the self-service kiosk, situated 60 yards past the traffic lights looking towards Bristol. Please be aware that wading is not permitted, and the banks can become slippery when water levels fall, so exercise caution.

Community and Support

The Barrow Lodge hosts a friendly group of regular anglers who foster a welcoming, club-like atmosphere. They are often willing to share advice and information with newcomers and beginners. For the latest updates on fishing conditions and expert tips on tactics and fly patterns, ring Woodford Lodge, where local experts are on hand to help.
