Main Lake

The main lake at Merrington Carp Fishery spans eight acres, offering fifteen swims for anglers to enjoy. Surrounded by reeds, islands, and bays, this purpose-built carp pool is home to around 250 carp. Most of these fish weigh over 20 pounds, with several boasting impressive weights of 30 pounds and above. The typical carp here ranges between 25 and 26 pounds, and the lake proudly holds a record carp weighing 41 pounds.

Merlin Lake

Merlin Lake, the newest addition, covers 1.25 acres and features three swims. This reed-bordered pond provides a serene setting with depths varying from seven to eleven feet. Anglers can target approximately 80 carp, some reaching up to 31 pounds. The lake’s clay and silt bottom create ideal conditions for fishing, and essential equipment like nets and weigh slings are available for use.

Hayes Lake

Hayes Lake stretches over 6.2 acres and hosts 185 carp, each typically weighing between 25 and 26 pounds. The uniform depth of 7.5 to eight feet throughout the lake ensures a consistent fishing experience. Reed-bordered shores and submerged objects offer excellent spots for anglers to cast their lines, with many catches exceeding 30 pounds.
