Windthorpe Pits spans around 15 acres, featuring a flat bottom with silt and gravel areas. The lake maintains an even depth of approximately seven to eight feet, providing a stable environment for fishing. The margins gently slope outwards, blending smoothly with the surrounding landscape. Water levels are influenced by the nearby River Trent, occasionally rising and falling rapidly.

Fishing Opportunities

Anglers can enjoy a variety of species at Windthorpe Pits, including Carp, Bream, Roach, Perch, Pike, and Zander. Additionally, there is a 650-meter stretch of the River Trent accessible via the lake’s access gate. This river section offers the chance to fish for Barbel, Chub, Bream, Carp, and Pike, adding to the diversity of fishing experiences available.

The fishery is equipped with disabled access and facilities, ensuring a comfortable visit for all guests. Parking is conveniently located behind each peg, providing easy access to the water’s edge.
