Reaching the River Trent near Newark involves a pleasant walk from the public parking area. After arriving at the parking park on Main Street, anglers can stroll approximately 350 yards downstream and cross the marina bridge to access the fishing waters. For those interested in exploring the broader section, continue along Fosse Road into Long Lane and follow the track to the car park at the base. It’s important to note that vehicles must not be driven upstream from the parking lot.

Fishing Areas

The River Trent offers around three-quarters of a mile dedicated to fishing. The stretch below the marina entrance is ideal for stick floaters, providing consistent conditions for anglers. Meanwhile, the downstream end of the river is wider and flows more gently, making it perfect for wagglers and feeders. This variety ensures that different fishing techniques can be effectively employed depending on your preference.
