Corby Boating Lake, built in the early 70s, has been a cornerstone of Northamptonshire's community. Situated right in the heart of the town, it offers a serene escape amidst urban life.
The lake is accessible for angling throughout the week. From Monday to Sunday, you can cast your line from dawn until dusk. However, on Thursdays and Sundays, there are restrictions between pegs 19-37, allowing anglers access to the rest of the lake during those times.
Corby Boating Lake is a haven for bird enthusiasts. The lake boasts a variety of geese, ducks, and waterfowl, as well as residential swans. Herons, gulls, and kingfishers are common sights, alongside numerous woodland and garden birds. Recently, an environmental project has bolstered the fishing stocks, enhancing the lake's natural ecosystem.
