The lake features level banks around its perimeter, with depths reaching around 8 feet in the margins and deeper areas towards the centre. Anglers can target carp, with specimens weighing up to 20 lb, and chub, reaching up to 4 lb. Favourite fishing methods include using a long pole to fish the near shelf, employing pellets, castor, or worm as hook bait for an effective catch.
Barnwell Lake boasts vibrant colours throughout the year, enhancing the fishing experience. During the summer months, the margins are adorned with lilies, adding both colour and interest to the landscape. This picturesque setting provides a pleasant backdrop for a relaxing day of fishing.
