The Carp here are primarily hard-fighting Common Carp, with some impressive specimens reaching over 23lb. On average, most Carp are in the low to mid double digits. Additionally, the lake hosts a variety of Tench ranging from 2lb to a healthy 8lb, as well as a small number of Mirror and Ghost Carp. Eels are also present, adding to the diverse fishing experience.

The bottom of Swimming Lake is predominantly silt, creating a smooth bed for fishing.
