Overview
Raskelf Lake, situated near Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire, serves as one of Bradford No1 AA's flagship waters. It attracts many of the club's members, thanks to its reputation for delivering excellent catches during the summer months.
Features
Spanning approximately 4.5 acres, the lake offers 50 permanent pegs. Each peg is equipped with various fishing opportunities, from overhanging trees to dense weed beds. The depths range from 2 to 6 feet, with some areas reaching up to 10 feet, catering to different angling preferences. During summer, anglers can net catches exceeding 100 lbs, adding to the lake's appeal.
Please note, at the railway end of the lake where power lines are present, anglers are restricted to using rods no longer than 4 metres.
Species
Raskelf Lake is home to a variety of fish species. Main catches include F1 carp, tench, ide, bream, crucian carp, and roach. Additionally, smaller populations of chub and barbel can be found. While most fish fall within the 1 to 2 lbs range, tench can grow up to 7 lbs, bream up to 5 lbs, and some carp can surpass 20 lbs, providing exciting opportunities for anglers.
