Overview

Regent's Canal winds through North West London, passing by Regents Park and reaching the River Thames at Limehouse Basin. Anglers might overlook this urban gem, but it offers good sport with ample shoals of Bream and Perch. Popular spots include Little Venice and the area behind Kings Cross station, where the canal widens near the old docks.

Fishing Tips

Standard canal fishing tactics work well here. As the weather cools and the water clears, light tackle is recommended. Around Camden, watch out for debris on the canal bed which can cause snags. Float fishing or light ledger are effective methods. Using moored boats as features can increase your chances. Suitable baits include maggots, worms, bread, sweetcorn, hemp, and bloodworm. For Perch, small spinners are ideal, while shallow diving plugs and lures can attract Pike.

Access and Parking

The Regent's Canal offers easy access across London's sections, though some areas require steps, making them less accessible for wheelchair users. Parking can be challenging, especially around Little Venice. However, free parking is available on weekends in this area. It's always a good idea to check local road restrictions before you go.
