Since the 1980s, Willow Lakes Fishery has been a cornerstone for anglers near Foston, Grantham. Spanning seven distinct lakes, the fishery caters to a variety of fishing styles. Willow Lake stands out as the main pleasure fishing destination, boasting four islands and an average depth of 4ft. Other lakes like Poplar and Sycamore offer year-round fishing with diverse stocking approaches, while Chestnut, Ash, and Hawthorn are designed for match anglers.
Facilities
Ash Lake ensures a comfortable visit for all, with several disabled-friendly pegs available across each lake. Caravanners will appreciate the dedicated areas for private stays, while ample parking ensures easy access for day visitors. Fishery permits can be conveniently purchased from the day-ticket machines located in the car park, accepting coins only. The fishery is open daily from 6:00am until dusk, providing a straightforward fishing experience without the need for prior booking.
The Fish
Anglers at Ash Lake can expect a variety of species to target. The lakes are well-stocked with Bream, Chub, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Tench, and Carp, with some specimens reaching up to 20lb. Willow Lake, for instance, is home to a high number of Common, Mirror, and Ghost Carp, typically weighing between 4lb and 8lb, but larger catches are not uncommon. Each lake has its unique stocking patterns, ensuring a rich and engaging fishing experience throughout the year.
