The Lakes
Purple Badger camping & fishing lakes, formerly known as Spring Grange Fisheries, features two lakes in a rural area of Leicestershire. The Carp Lake, dug in 1991, reaches a depth of 8ft away from the road and offers 18 numbered pegs with unique challenges. Meanwhile, the Coarse Lake, created in 1978 to support a local strawberry field, is 17ft deep and houses 17 pegs plus an extra by the inlet sluice.
Facilities
Visitors can make use of camping, lodges, and cabins, with toilets and showers available for convenience. A Coffee Cart provides refreshments, and during March to October, an adjacent camping field is open. Additionally, two Shepherd huts near the Top Lake can be hired.
Booking
Concession rates are available from Monday to Friday. Bookings for day or night fishing, as well as private matches, can be made online without any charge. All night fishing requires advance reservation. The lakes contain carp up to 25lb, providing challenges for anglers.
