Anglers at Fleetwood Reservoir can target a diverse range of coarse fish. The reservoir is home to impressive carp reaching up to 30lb, bream up to 12lb, tench up to 7lb, barbel up to 5lb, chub up to 5lb, and roach up to 3lb. Community and History
Established in 1960, Fleetwood Reservoir has been a vital part of the Wyre community for over six decades. Originally built in 1890 to support steam trains, the reservoir was transformed into a fishery by the Lancashire and Merseyside Railway (LMR). The local angling club has grown steadily, now boasting over 150 annual members and recently expanding to 200. Children aged 11 and under can fish free of charge when accompanied by an adult member, making it a welcoming spot for families. Regular matches and community events keep the angling spirit lively and engaging for all members.
