The Lakes
Hortons Pond comprises four distinct lakes and a section of the River Darent. As you enter the fishery, Westminster Lake appears on the left and Viaduct Lake on the right. Continuing between them leads to Western Lake, while Silt Pond is located between the river and Westminster Lake.
Fish Species
Anglers at Hortons Pond can find a variety of fish across its lakes. Viaduct Lake is home to Carp up to 30lb, Tench up to 7lb, Bream over 6lb, Pike up to 20lb, Eels up to 4lb, Perch up to 3lb, and Roach over 1lb. Westminster Lake features Carp reaching 37lb, Tench nearing double figures, and Bream also in double figures. Western Lake has been recently stocked with Tench and smaller Carp, alongside some larger Carp, Perch, Rudd, and Roach. Silt Pond offers Tench, Roach up to 2lb, Crucian Carp, and some specimen Perch.
Membership
Club memberships are offered at Hortons Pond, allowing anglers to enjoy access to the various lakes and the amenities provided by the Dartford and District Angling and Preservation Society.
