Gunville Pond

Gunville Pond holds the distinction of being the oldest fishery owned by the Isle of Wight Fishery Association of Australia (IWFAA). Located on the west side of Gunville Road in Carisbrooke, it's conveniently situated near the Argos industrial estate on the B3323. Since 2001, significant efforts have been made to clear old willows and repair swims and land drainage systems, enhancing the fishing experience.

Fish

Gunville Pond is a mixed fishery popular with carp specialists, boasting specimens up to 30 lb. In addition to carp, anglers can catch bream and tench weighing over 6 lb, as well as rudd and roach exceeding 2 lb. Predator hunters will also find perch nearing 4 lb and can vie for pike and eel records, with the pond holding pike up to 20 lb 4 oz and eels up to 4 lb 10 oz.
