Banjo Lake, spanning just over four acres, has become a notable spot for carp enthusiasts. Stocked initially in 2006 with 200 Mirror Carp ranging from 2lb to 5lb, the lake saw an impressive catch event that year, including "Melvyn's Fish," a specimen now weighing over 28lb. Subsequent stocking efforts have introduced additional carp, enhancing the fishing experience for anglers.

Available Features

The renovated gravel pit offers various natural features such as gravel bars, plateaus, and beds of lily pads, creating diverse habitats for carp. Day ticket access makes it easy for visitors to enjoy a fishing session without the need for membership. Access is conveniently from Marsh Lane, Stanstead Abbots, allowing anglers to make the most of their day by the water.

Angling Tips

To maximise your chances of a successful catch, using a high-quality boilie with a PVA bag of pellets, complemented by a scattering of pellets and boilies, proved effective during the initial event. It's advisable to avoid fishing near the reed beds, as they are newly planted and protected with chicken wire to prevent disturbance from waterfowl. Regular feeding with pellets ensures a healthy fish population.
