The lake is home to impressive carp, with Mirror Carp up to 40lb and Common Carp in the mid-30lb range. Anglers may also encounter Tench weighing up to 12lb, Perch up to 4lb 8oz, as well as Chub, Roach, Gudgeon, and Dace in the River Blackwater. The presence of large shoals of rudd makes live baiting particularly effective, especially during the winter months.
