Syke Foot

Access

To reach Syke Foot, you'll pass through a locked gate and traverse the farmers' field situated between Syke Methodist Church and Hazel Grove farmhouse. It's important to take extra care during your visit, as the banks are steep and the pathways can become quite muddy, especially when the weather turns wet.

Fish Species

The one-acre lake is home to 18 permanent pegs and hosts a variety of coarse fish. Anglers can expect to find Carp up to 1 lb, Roach, Bream, Perch, and Rudd. Additionally, Tench reaching up to 4 lb add to the diverse fishing opportunities. During the winter months, the small, shallow pond offers great sport when other venues might fall short.

Facilities

Recently, Syke Foot benefited from new concrete pegs and improvements to the small water and paths, thanks to the efforts of member Daz Wright and the grant secured by Barry Watkins. These enhancements help maintain the quality of the fishing experience, ensuring anglers have reliable spots to cast their lines.
