Recently, Scot Lane New Pond has secured a new long-term lease with Wigan Council. This partnership has initiated significant improvements, including the replacement of old wooden fishing pegs with 20 sturdy concrete ones in the back pond. Furthermore, 18 additional pegs have been renewed on the front pond and part of the canal in April, bringing the total number of refurbished pegs to 38.
