Key Information
The Fishery
Gingham Fisheries offers anglers a tranquil setting within the Lancashire countryside on the outskirts of Bolton. The fishery features an old reservoir lodge equipped with 27 pegs and a smaller pond with 7 pegs. Both waters are home to a variety of species, including carp, bream, roach, tench, ide, chub, rudd, and perch. Enthusiasts can expect to catch carp in different sizes, with the largest specimens reaching up to 21lb in the main water.
Location
Conveniently situated near the M61 motorway junction 6, Gingham Fisheries is easily accessible from Gingham Brow, just off Chorley Old Road (B6226). Visitors should note that there is no access from Wallsuches or Mill View Lane. When approaching the fishery, it's important to be mindful of pedestrians and horse riders sharing the road.
Visiting Information
Day tickets are available for purchase on the day at the ticket booth. The fishery operates an honesty box system, encouraging anglers to pay before setting up. It’s essential to have a valid ticket, as bailiffs conduct regular checks and an additional £5 charge applies if a ticket is not presented. Whether you're aiming for a modest catch in the smaller pond or hoping to land a hefty carp in the larger water, Gingham Fisheries provides a pleasant environment for your fishing pursuits.
