The Lake

Thoby Wood, once known as Blackmores Wood Lake, spans five acres near Ingatestone in Essex. This newly acquired fishing spot is managed by the Billericay & District Angling Club Waters. It offers a peaceful setting for anglers looking to cast their lines in well-maintained waters.

Access and Parking

Visitors can fish at Thoby Wood from 6am until thirty minutes after sunset. There is a large car park available for everyone, with a special area for disabled blue badge holders who can drive a short distance to avoid the incline. This ensures easy access for all guests.

Fish Stock

The lake is home to a variety of fish, including carp up to 25lb, bream reaching 9lb, as well as perch, pike, roach, rudd, and tench. In late 2009, smaller tench and crucians were introduced, and there are plans to continue stocking additional species in the future.
