The River Chelmer

Access

Finding a spot to park is straightforward with parking situated on the right-hand side of the road only. To reach the fishing spots, take Mill Lane from Broomfield, which culminates at a dead end by the river.

Fishing Areas

Anglers can cast their lines for a mile both above and below the Mill Pool on the Eastern bank. Additionally, the wierpool offers fishing opportunities from either bank, adding a bit of variety to your session.

Fish Species

The River Chelmer is home to a diverse range of fish such as Carp, Chub up to 6 lb, Dace up to 1 lb, Perch up to 3½ lb, Roach up to 2 lb 4 oz, Trout up to 2 lb, Pike reaching 17 lb 8 oz, Eels up to 3 lb, Bream up to 7 lb, and Tench up to 4 lb.
