Fish Variety

Kings Weir is home to a diverse range of fish species. Anglers can target Barbel weighing up to 15lb, Chub reaching up to 9lb, and Perch exceeding 3lb. The weir pool also hosts sizeable Bream close to double figures and Pike that can grow up to 20lb. In recent seasons, there has been a notable increase in Roach and Dace, adding variety to the fishing experience.

Pool Layout

The weir pool at Kings Weir is organised into nine marked swims to accommodate different fishing preferences. Six of these swims are located on the house side along the west bank, while the remaining three are opposite on the east bank. This layout allows anglers to choose their preferred spots and enjoy a structured fishing environment.

Notable Catches

Kings Weir is particularly known for its impressive Barbel and Chub catches. Barbel up to and exceeding 15lb have been successfully caught, and Chub often surpass 6lb, with records exceeding 9lb. Additionally, Pike specimens can reach up to 20lb, providing anglers with the opportunity to reel in substantial trophies.
