The Lakes

The Crouch Valley Fishery, operated by Hockley Angling Club, spans seven acres near Rayleigh in Essex. Established in 1986 by Robin and Janice Payne, the fishery has grown from three to seven acres, now featuring three distinct lakes: Top Lake, Left Lake, and Right Lake. Anglers can enjoy a variety of species, including carp up to 26 lb, bream, tench, roach, perch, rudd, chub, and barbel up to 2 lb.

Facilities

All lakes are surrounded by hard paths, making for easy navigation. Top Lake is accessible by steps and includes additional slopes suitable for fishing trolleys. The fishery is well-equipped with modern toilet facilities, including dedicated ladies and disabled restrooms with running water and hand-cleaning amenities. A large hardstanding car park offers ample parking close to the lakes, ensuring convenience for all visitors.

Membership

Hockley Angling Club offers memberships that provide year-round, 24-hour access to the fishery. Members can bring fishing guests for £8 per adult and £5 for those under 16, while non-fishing guests can join for free. Junior members may need to be accompanied by an adult to bring non-fishing guests. Security is maintained with all lakes fenced and gated, and members receive their own keys. Additionally, a 24-hour on-site bailiff ensures a safe and secure environment for everyone. Night fishing is also available, allowing members to enjoy their angling experience at all hours.
