Brookhall Lake

The Lake

Brookhall Lake spans four acres and is located near the village of Tiptree in Essex. With 50 pegs available, anglers have ample space to cast their lines and enjoy a day by the water.

Fish Species

The lake is home to a variety of fish. Carp can reach up to 29lb, with many averaging between 6lb and 15lb. Tench grow up to 8lb, while Bream can reach up to 7lb. Roach are abundant, and smaller fish up to 1lb are also present.

Fishing Techniques

During the summer, tactical margin fishing is a popular method. In cooler months, fishing at 8 meters on the bottom proves effective. Successful baits include pellets, paste, bread, sweetcorn, and meat. For a bite, fish maggot can be used as a cast-off roach bait. Anglers typically use size 14 to 10 barbless hooks with at least a no12 elastic for pole fishing.
