Site Description
Boreham Mere in Essex spans approximately 10 acres and comprises three distinct lakes. The main and back lakes, covering 6.6 acres and 1.5 acres respectively, were restocked in the late 1990s with 20,000 fish. These waters thrive during the warmer months, providing ample natural food and weed for the fish. The smallest lake, at a quarter of an acre, was also restocked, adding tench, rudd, roach, and crucian carp to the mix.
Fish Variety
Anglers at Boreham Mere can expect a diverse range of species. The main lake is home to impressive carp reaching up to 37lb and pike up to 23lb. You'll also find bream over 12lb, perch up to 4lb, and large shoals of rudd and roach. The back lake offers carp in the upper double figures, along with heaps of crucian carp and eels. In the smaller lake, tench can grow up to 6lb, complementing the lively populations of rudd and roach.
