Barretts Farm Fisheries

Key Information
The Lakes
Barretts Farm Fisheries features two lakes in the Old Heathfield area of East Sussex. The larger lake spans just under an acre, while the smaller one covers between two and three acres. The smaller lake stands out with its picturesque and more protected setting, offering a serene spot for anglers to cast their lines.
Fish Species
The waters are home to a variety of fish. Anglers can target carp weighing up to 25 lb, tench reaching over 6 lb, and perch that can grow beyond 5 lb. Eels also make an appearance, with some individuals hitting the 5 lb mark. Additionally, the lakes house roach and rudd, each available up to 1 lb 8 oz, as well as tiny gudgeon.
Environment
The bottom lake has recently been rebuilt, resulting in reduced riverside vegetation and fewer water plants compared to earlier photos. Over time, it's expected that plant life will recover, enhancing the pond's protected nature. Meanwhile, the upper lake remains free of lilies but features sections with rushes and overhanging plants and trees, contributing to its natural charm.
