Burshill Pond B in the East Riding of Yorkshire spans approximately 2½ acres, offering a mature and fairly shallow fishing environment. Primarily a tench water, it also hosts roach, rudd, pike, and carp. During the summer months, the pond becomes notably weedy, adding a unique challenge for anglers.
Early mornings and evenings are ideal times for fishing at Burshill Pond B, with many catches exceeding 5lb. A notable specimen of 8lb 2oz has been reported in the past, and attaining a tench over 6lb is considered a significant achievement. Since 2008, the pond has been part of a stocking programme, introducing a variety of tench and carp to enhance the fishing experience.
The fishery has recently undergone significant improvements, including the renewal of all swims and the addition of an extra swim. A new footpath provides easy access around the venue, complemented by better road access and enhanced car parking. Facilities at Burshill Pond B include disabled access, toilets, and ample parking, ensuring a comfortable visit for all anglers. Additionally, the Association’s Brandesburton Ponds are safeguarded with otter fences, maintaining a safe environment for both wildlife and fish.
