Brickyard pond

Key Information
Pond Environment
Brickyard Pond, situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire, covers roughly 8 acres and boasts a long history as a mature clay pit. Surrounded by trees, the pond offers a peaceful retreat for anglers. A central band of reeds divides the water, allowing fish to migrate between the two sections. The depths drop quickly from the edges, ranging between 10ft and 15ft. Two sunken roads, remnants of the clay excavation, lie about 7ft below the surface with minimal silt accumulation. Recent work parties have significantly improved the fishing stances and paths, ensuring the pond remains well-maintained.
Fish Variety
Brickyard Pond is home to a diverse array of fish species. Anglers can target bream weighing up to 13lb and carp reaching impressive sizes of up to 40lb. Pike, known to exceed 20lb, add excitement to the catches, while roach, rudd, and perch provide ample opportunities for a successful day on the water. Although large tench are rarely caught these days, numerous smaller tench have been identified along the reedy margins, with plans to introduce mature tench in the future.
Facilities
Visitors to Brickyard Pond will find essential amenities readily available, including clean toilets to ensure a comfortable fishing experience. Ongoing maintenance efforts continue to enhance the venue, making it a dependable spot for anglers looking to enjoy the serene surroundings and well-stocked waters.
