Overview

Established in 1938, Christchurch Angling Club oversees the Cranebrook Lakes in Dorset. Located just south of Verwood alongside the River Crane, the club is one of the longest-established fishing clubs in the UK. The complex comprises three adjoining lakes and several rearing ponds, each offering different angling opportunities.

Parking and Membership

Access to the car park is managed through a Club key system, and car labels must be displayed at all times. Club memberships are available for those interested in regular visits, providing a straightforward way to enjoy the facilities.

Fish Species

The lakes are home to a variety of fish, including roach, rudd, tench, perch, crucians, and carp, with carp reaching up to 47 lb. In 2010, Wood Lake was stocked with bream, enhancing the diversity of species available. Many areas are shallow, allowing anglers to fish close to weedbeds and margin cover, making it easier to find and catch different types of fish.
