Willow Tree Lake in Bideford has been welcoming anglers for two years. Covering 1.5 acres, the lake was meticulously dug and stocked with 80 carp. The mix includes fast-growing, scaley mirror carp, alongside a few common carp.

Fishing Experience

Anglers at Willow Tree Lake can target carp ranging from 10lb to 30lb, with an average size of 15lb. Some fish have grown by 11lb over the two years, and there’s potential for larger specimens next season, thanks to a dedicated year-round feeding programme. Catching these carp is a challenge, as many have never been caught before, making bites fast and hard.

Lake Features

The lake boasts one island, plateaus, gravel bars, lily pads, and reeds, offering various spots to cast your line. Depth varies from a mere foot to nine feet, so bringing a marker rod is advisable. Additionally, a bait and tackle shop is available for purchase during booking.
