Tydal Water

Key Information
Fish Species
Grasmere boasts a rich variety of coarse fish, including roach that often reach up to 2 lb and perch growing up to 3 lb. Pike are a standout here, with specimens exceeding 30 lb having been caught in the past, and anglers regularly reeling in pikes around 20 lb. The lake’s environment supports healthy shoals, making it a rewarding spot for those targeting these species.
Access
Situated just off the A591 road near Grasmere village, accessing the fishery is straightforward. However, parking can be a challenge with only two laybys available, each accommodating up to three vehicles. Once these are full, anglers may need to park in Grasmere village or at White Moss near Rydal Water, though both options involve a longer walk with fishing gear.
Facilities
Grasmere provides disabled access and essential facilities to ensure a comfortable fishing experience for all visitors. Boat fishing is available, with boats hireable from the landings on the far side of the village, though booking in advance is necessary. Additionally, club memberships are offered, allowing anglers to take advantage of the fishery’s abundant resources regularly.
