About High Arnside Tarn

High Arnside Tarn is a small, one and a half acre spot located about fifteen minutes off the Skelwith Bridge to Coniston Road. You'll find it alongside the footpath to Tarn Hows, making it a handy stop for a peaceful fishing session.

Fishing Conditions

The tarn is heavily weeded, which means floating lines are your best bet. The fish are known to be willing, free rising, and pretty feisty. Whether you're planning to spend an hour or two with light tackle or looking for a quiet retreat on a warm evening, High Arnside Tarn offers a delightful experience.

Fish Information

Currently, the tarn is home to smallish, wild brown trout. While WADAA no longer stocks the fishery, you might still encounter the occasional larger trout probing the deeper holes.
