Fishing Details

Fisher Tarn Reservoir is home to both rainbow and brown trout. The brown trout are introduced as fingerlings and grown before being regularly taken from the waters. With stock densities not being high, anglers find it beneficial to move around and explore different areas of the reservoir. It’s best to plan your fishing trips for early morning or late in the season, especially during the summer months when algal blooms can make fishing more challenging.

Access Information

To reach Fisher Tarn Reservoir from Kendal, take the A684 Sedbergh road and cross over the railway. Continue on the second minor road on the left for about 1.5 miles, then stay left and follow the road until you can see the dam on your right. Limited day permits are available and can be obtained from Kendal Sports in Kendal.

Membership

Club memberships are offered by the Fisher Tarn Angling Association. Due to the small size of the club, there is usually a waiting list for new members. If you prefer not to join the club, limited day permits provide an alternative way to enjoy fishing at Fisher Tarn Reservoir.
