Crummock Water

Key Information
Crummock Water is the largest of the three connected lakes in the River Cocker's basin, stretching about two and a half miles long and half a mile wide. It's a notable spot for anglers looking to spend a day on the water.
Boat Hire
Boat fishing is available, but with a twist – only oared boats can be hired. This means you'll be rowing as you fish, which can be quite a workout, especially on windy days that tend to bring excellent sport.
Fishing from the Bank
For those who prefer fly fishing, Crummock Water offers miles of accessible bank. It's a great way to explore different fishing spots, but be cautious of the southern end where the inflow from Buttermere leads to waist-deep bogs.
Launching Your Own Boat
The National Trust advises that there are no launching facilities available, but you are welcome to launch your own unpowered boat. Just be prepared for the effort required to get your vessel into the water.
