Bude Canal

Key Information
Angling Experience
The Bude Canal Angling Association has been a hub for fishing enthusiasts since 1967. Spanning 1.5 miles, the canal is stocked with a variety of fish including carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, perch, and gudgeon. On occasion, anglers might also catch trout, dace, or eel, adding an exciting twist to your day by the water.
Accessibility
Getting to the canal is straightforward thanks to the well-maintained tarmac towpath and multiple car parks located at the town end. For those requiring additional assistance, there are purpose-built fishing platforms in the Upper Wharf, designed to be wheelchair accessible. These platforms, placed on pegs 25 to 30, provide a comfortable spot to cast a line.
Membership and Tickets
Joining the Bude Canal Angling Association opens up exclusive opportunities, including access to Hele Bridge Pond. The association hosts a lively match scene with summer and winter leagues, a pairs league, and various cup contests. Membership places are limited, so interested anglers should reach out via the contact page to apply. For those who prefer a day out without committing to membership, day tickets are available for purchase in advance from the Crescent Post Office.
