Water Features
During the summer, the lake is adorned with abundant lily beds and bullrushes, creating a picturesque backdrop. Water depths vary from just a few inches to over seven feet, with an average of four feet. The lake bed is rich with bloodworm beds, featuring both silty and firmer areas, ideal for different fishing techniques. Snags are minimal, primarily found along the far tree line.
The Fishery's Highlights
Plex Flash is home to a variety of stocked species, including high-quality roach, tench, and crucian carp. The main attractions are the Carp and Catfish. Carp caught here can reach up to 27lb, with many weighing over 20lb and averaging in the mid to high twenties. The Catfish truly stand out, with some individuals exceeding 45lb. While the largest Catfish landed in 2009 weighed 38lb 12oz, there are consistently numerous Catfish around 15lb and above.
