History of Ackers Pit

Ackers Pit has been a cherished spot for anglers since its re-opening in 2009. Located in Stockton Heath, approximately two miles south of Warrington, significant efforts were made in 2007 to drain, desilt, and re-landscape the pit. These improvements included the construction of new pegs and restocking the fishery, aiming to revive its reputation as a prolific roach fishing location.

Fishing at Ackers Pit

Despite being a shallow fishery, Ackers Pit offers a variety of species for members to enjoy. The lake is home to roach, perch, bream, rudd, crucian carp, tench, and around 200 mirror carp averaging 2.5lb. Anglers find success using simple light float tactics with baits such as maggots, casters, bread, and corn proving particularly effective. The ease of catching fish here makes it a favourite among those looking for a relaxed fishing experience.

Facilities and Accessibility

Ackers Pit prides itself on being accessible to all members, including those requiring disabled facilities. Club memberships are offered, ensuring that members have the necessary access to enjoy fishing in this popular local beauty spot. The emphasis on accessibility and member-focused amenities makes Ackers Pit a welcoming environment for anglers.
